Some yachts are built to be admired at the dock. S/Y Anya was built to cross oceans, and she has, extensively. Since her launch in 1999 by Seafinn Yachts Oy in Finland, this custom Seafinn 80 has logged tens of thousands of nautical miles under a single owner: an Atlantic crossing via the ARC to Saint Lucia, a 15,000nm voyage to Venezuela and up the Orinoco River, a 16,000nm passage through the Caribbean, USA and Cuba, and, most remarkably, an Arctic expedition beyond 80°N. Four Tall Ships Races round out a sailing résumé few yachts of any size can match.
Designed by noted Finnish naval architect Hans Groop and built to Lloyd's classification, Anya pairs a hand-laid GRP hull, protected rudder and high-performance bulb keel with the kind of hydraulic sail-handling, twin-engine redundancy and dual navigation systems that serious bluewater sailors expect on high-latitude passages. Her full pilot house puts helm and co-helm side by side, with comprehensive systems monitoring at hand in any weather.
Below decks, high-gloss varnished teak throughout reflects the traditional Finnish craftsmanship the yard was known for. The main saloon seats 8 to 10 for dinner. The full-beam owner's suite includes a private office and onboard library. And, a genuine rarity at this size, Anya carries her own onboard sauna, complete with traditional electric heater and infrared system, three-person capacity included.
Never chartered and registered in Finland, S/Y Anya lies ready in her private berth on the Aura River in Turku, awaiting a new owner. A yacht proven capable of taking her next owner anywhere, from the tropics to the ice.
