Nobuyoshi Araki is an influential Japanese photographer known for his direct and often provocative style. He captures both everyday life and intimate and theatrical scenes, often playing with composition, contrast and emotion. Araki combines traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern subjects and has an extensive oeuvre that ranges from portraits and cityscapes to experiments with colour and black-and-white photography. His work has been exhibited internationally and has a recognisable visual signature.

The artworks are primarily from the STIMA collection.

Since 1987, art has been rented and sold to private collectors and advised for corporate collections.
