Takashi Murakami is a leading Japanese contemporary artist known for his colourful and playful style. He combines traditional Japanese art forms with pop culture, manga and anime. Murakami introduced the concept of “Superflat”, in which he deliberately blurs the boundary between high art and popular culture. His work ranges from paintings and sculptures to fashion and design projects and has been exhibited worldwide.
The artworks are primarily from the STIMA collection. Since 1987, art has been rented and sold to private collectors and advised for corporate collections.
