101. Banknote - Banksy, Di Faced Tenner

# 100512 - 101
A "Di-Faced Tenner" is a counterfeit British ten-pound bill createdëered by the artist Banksy, in which the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II has been replaced with that of Princess Diana. The term "Di-Faced" is a pun on "defaced" (damaged) and refers to the alteration of the bill. In 2004, Banksy produced about £1 million of these fake bills. He distributed them at public events such as the Nothing Hill Carnival, and the Reading Festival and also dropped them at Liverpool Tube Station in London. The action was a commentary on the media's obsession with royalty and the tragic history of Princess Diana. The design includes on the back the image of Charles Darwin and the text ' Trust No One'
