Pablo Picasso (1881–1973) is regarded worldwide as one of the greatest and most innovative artists of the 20th century. From a very young age he showed exceptional talent and was admitted to the Academy of Fine Arts in Barcelona at the age of thirteen, where he was immediately allowed to skip several years of study. His early works show impressive technical mastery and emotional depth.
Picasso developed into a revolutionary artist and co-founder of Cubism. During his careerère he went through numerous styles and periods, from his Blue and Rose Period to the radical forms of Cubism. His versatile oeuvre includes paintings, sculptures, drawings and ceramics. Iconic works such as Les Demoiselles d’Avignon and Guernica are among the absolute highlights of modern art and confirm his status as one of the most influential artists of all time.
The artworks are primarily from the STIMA collection.
Since 1987, art has been rented and sold to private collectors and advised for corporate collections.
