47. Original painting Herman Brood - Saxophone

# 100512 - 47
Includes certificate of authenticity
Herman Brood (1946–2001) was a versatile Dutch artist: singer, pianist, actor, author én visual artist. Like his music, his paintings are energetic, rebellious and undeniably idiosyncratic. Despite his color blindness, Brood managed to develop an expressive and recognizable visual language, in which bright colors, raw lines and a direct painting style set the tone.

After his death, his work received wide recognition, including a major retrospective at the Cobra Museum in Amstelveen (2002). His paintings are loved by a wide audience and are still widely collected. Brood remains an icon of Dutch pop culture, both in music and visual art.

The artworks are primarily from the STIMA collection.

Since 1987, art has been rented and sold to private collectors and advised for corporate collections.
