4. Untiteld - Anton Heijboer

# 100512 - 4
Unique work. Gouache on handmade paper.

Anton Heyboer (1924–2005) was a Dutch painter and etcher who achieved international fame in the 1960s. His work was shown at important exhibitions such as documenta 2 (1959), documenta 3 (1964) and documenta 4 (1969) in Kassel. The same year he received the prestigious Ohara Museum Prize in Japan and was appointed Academico Onorario in Florence.

Heyboer was known for his idiosyncratic lifestyle and artistic choices. In 1984, he severed his ties with the established art world to focus entirely on his art in seclusion in Den Ilp. Despite his reclusive existence, his oeuvre remains a striking and beloved contribution to Dutch modern art.

The artworks are mainly from the STIMA collection.

Since 1987, art has been rented and sold to private collectors and advised for corporate collections.
