Borthwick Vineyards
Paddy Borthwick is a passionate winemaker and owner of this family estate located in the heart of Wairarapa. Since 1996, Paddy has managed 27 hectares of vineyards that blend effortlessly into the stunning natural surroundings. The Wairarapa region offers excellent growing conditions and soils rich in stones and river deposits. Thanks to this terroir, Borthwick achieves beautifully ripe harvests.
Winemaking runs in Paddy’s blood, and before starting his own winery, he gained 15 years of international experience—five of them as a winemaker in Marlborough. He works steadily to craft fine wines, letting the quality in the bottle speak for itself. That’s the only marketing Paddy does. In addition to the vineyards and winery, Paddy and his family also run a large livestock farm with 700 Angus cattle and 10,000 sheep!
