Tasting notes
Harvested at extremely low yields (20 hl/ha), and it shows. The region lies just outside the official Provence borders, but that might be exactly why this wine is a masterful Provence-style rosé. Technically a simple table wine... The blend of three grape varieties gives it classic Southern French rosé character, with notes of rosehip, raspberry, and wild strawberry. The flavor is refined, and the surprise comes in the finish, when the Carignan grape shows its strength, adding depth and concentration. The wine displays a traditional rosé color, the classic "onion skin" hue known as *oeil de perdrix* (partridge eye).

Domaine des Peyre
This estate has a history spanning centuries. The current Domaine des Peyre stands where a Roman villa once lay, 2000 years ago, along the Via Domitia – the oldest road in France. The present 18th-century farmhouse is built on those foundations. By 2012, the estate was completely rundown.

When Patricia Alexandre, a food and wine journalist, and Georges Antoun, a former hotelier, arrived in June 2012, they found neglected vines, crumbling buildings, no production equipment, and a ruined chapel used for storage. Today, everything has been beautifully restored, including a B&B and 20 hectares of vineyards. The location is special: in Haute-Provence, in the Luberon nature reserve, with plots classified both under the Ventoux appellation and IGP Méditerranée.

The estate is committed to eco-friendly practices: sustainable viticulture, protecting local wildlife, maintaining biodiversity, and using natural fertilizers. They use lightweight bottles, eco-responsible paper, and corks with a negative carbon footprint. Since 2020, they’ve also produced sulfite-free wines.
