6 x Provence Rosé – Infinie 2023 Maison Meï
Vivino rating: 3.7
Wine Description
Infinie Rosé is crafted from Grenache Noir, Syrah, Rolle, and Cinsault, grown in the Vallée de l’Arc east of Aix-en-Provence, on the southern slopes of Mont Sainte-Victoire. The warm climate, ample sunshine, and the cool mistral winds result in an intense rosé with the crisp freshness typical of Provence.
Infinie
Traditionally, a rose bush is planted at the start of each row of vines to help combat the fungus Oidium. Inspired by this, winemaker Benjamin Meï linked the rose, a symbol of love, to his rosé, calling it Infinie, or infinite love.
Winery
Maison Meï is the passion project of winemaker Benjamin Meï and his cousin Bernard. Benjamin studied viticulture and oenology in Burgundy and worked around the world to gain experience. His journey led him to Chile, where he developed his technical skills and built a reputation for excellence.
In 2015, after a decade abroad, he returned to his roots in Provence and launched Provence Wine Maker with Bernard. Naturally, their first wine was a rosé. In 2019, they purchased Domaine Saint Jean in the Luberon to cultivate more of their own grapes.
Mont Saint Victoire
Some of the finest rosés in Provence come from Mont Saint Victoire, a stunning mountain east of Aix-en-Provence famously painted by Cézanne. The area boasts 2225 hectares of vineyards with an exceptional terroir. The combination of warm climate, sunshine, and the mistral wind creates fresh and vibrant rosés of great character.
