‘The World is Your Oyster’ plays with the well-known saying and prompts reflection on how effortless it sometimes seems to achieve everything we desire. In a scène full of summer airiness, bubbles, oysters and luxury car’s on their way into the sunset, life seems within reach.

But this work goes deeper. It asks the question: does all this really come naturally, or is there a struggle behind the glamour that often remains invisible?

It is Laura Stöckl’s largest work to date – an ode to artists trying to carve out their place in the art world. The artwork features a carefully curated collage of fashion and art magazine clippings, combined with screenshots of real personal WhatsApp conversations (identities kept anonymous).
