Carrera Thrills is the natural sequel to the earlier work Carrera but this time she is behind the wheel. Same format, same technique, with a new energy. The woman, thoughtful but powerful, takes her place behind the wheel of the Carrera. She is fully present in the moment.
Where Carrera explored the male gaze, fast cars’s, control and fantasy, Carrera Thrills reverses the perspective. The work tells a story of power and autonomy. A quiet rebellion captured in leather and horsepower. There is tension in her calmness, a play between mischief and introspection.
Carrera Thrills was painted live during the IAMS exhibition and is a powerful statement within Laura Stöckl’s oeuvre. The work is signed and comes with certificate of authenticity.
