Wine description:
Rich, intense aromas with notes of ripe pineapple, melon, and apple. The wine also has a subtle smokiness (fumé). On the palate, it is full of ripeness and concentration. A complex wine that calls for refined dishes. The vines for this wine grow on 100% flint (silex) soil (argile de Silex).

Winery:
The family estate Testut Chablis was founded in 1967 by Philipe Testut. Today, his son Cyril is the owner and winemaker. With 13 hectares, it’s not a large operation, located in the heart of Chablis. While many farmers in the region harvest by machine, Testut still harvests by hand! This allows for precise timing of the harvest, resulting in a rich, full Chablis with a remarkable mineral finish. This combination is the signature identity of true Chablis.

Domaine Testut maintains a modest PR approach, so these wines are waiting to be discovered. They’ve been unfairly overlooked by the international wine press.

80% of the vineyards are located on the right bank (rive-droite) of the Serein river, which flows through the wine region. The estate lies between Premier Cru Montée de Tonnerre and Grand Cru Blanchots — one of the most mineral-rich zones in Chablis. The old vines at Testut have a deeply developed root system, allowing them to draw deep minerals and iodine from the soil.
